At
our February committee
meeting it was agreed that all new plotholders will initially be offered
small or mini plots. In addition, any plotholder who wishes
to, will be allowed to reduce the size of their plot to a half or mini.
This will give more people the opportunity to get allotments and
hopefully, improve the overall standard of allotment cultivation.
The situation will be monitored monthly and reviewed annually. If
you have any thoughts on the matter please contact a committee member.
We have received a grant from the Ward
Community Chest and will use this to remove the 5 large trees at the
bottom of the site, adjacent to the roadway.
The bee talk, given by Adam Bates was very
informative. There was a good turn-out, despite the
weather.
Alex Findlater has a Mantis Tiller for
sale £50 o.n.o. (carburetor may need adjusting). Please contact
me or a committee member if you are interested.
Competition potatoes are
available. Seed potatoes are going fast. Grow bags are
expected in in the next few days. I have also ordered Humax
Universal to make a change from Erin.
Unfortunately there are some big price
increase on the way, so if you want something from the shed at the old
prices, I would get it quickly.
